HeartSafe Wisconsin in partnership with Columbia Saint Mary's Hospital is holding a HeartSafe Awareness Day in Cedarburg on Saturday Sept. 12, 2015 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Cedarburg Cultural Center. There will be activities/stations for kids through senior citizens. All are welcome to attend and learn about being HeartSafe. There will be FREE Youth Heart Screening for kids between the ages of 12-18. Every year as many as 8000 kids die every year from Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) as a result of an unknown heart condition. Many times the first sign of any issues is the SCA event itself. Youth Heart Screenings that performs an EKG to look at the heart's electrical system is the best way to uncover many of these electrical issues. To register, simply select a time slot that works for you and your child. This heart screening takes about 30 minutes and is FREE and open to all kids between 12 and 18.
